The most prominent feature is the new option that lets users decide whether they want to store incoming media such as video, audio or images from a specific group or person.
This means users can now filter content from specific groups according to an their preference. Not only will this feature help in avoiding unwanted content from a group or person, but also help users to save significant amount of storage space.
After receiving the new update, iOS users will be able to see three new options—default (on), always, and never— on every group or individual chat. If users choose never, no data from that specific group or person will be downloaded.
However, we couldn’t figure why the “Always” option was given, as keeping it on default serves the same purpose.
Coming to the other feature, now iOS users will be notified regarding a missed call directly on the app icon on the home screen, without having to access recent tab inside the app.
Over the past few months, the Facebook-owned messaging app has been constantly integrating new features to improve user experience and you can sign up for their Beta testing programme to get all the latest updates.
