Everyone knows by now that the Rs 251 Freedom 251 phone offer is a scam. Many were awake from (or even before) 6 am to book one or more smartphones when the online sales began on February 18. However, after a few hours, the entire website crashed and very few were able to book the smartphone. While many got a blank page after filling in details of their name, address, etc, very few were lucky to see a payment gateway and make necessary payments. Later, during the day, the website was shut for ‘maintenance’ and was to resume after 24 hours. In the meanwhile, angry netizens, ‘aam janta’ and the media took up to the social platform to showcase their disgust about the scam with hatred and memes.
