Amazon integrates Alexa to its shopping app
Amazon plans to integrate its digital assistant Alexa into its Amazon shopping app, which ought to bring some new features to users. This feature to be implemented through an app update in the coming weeks. Amazon had partnered with Huawei last year to launch its first Amazon Alexa integrated phone – Huawei Mate 9. However, Alexa will be available to Android users as of now.
Initially, the Amazon Alexa app had control of the Alexa devices which users have set up, but now this integration into its shopping app can have some additional features with new Alexa commands. These voice control commands, which perform well on an Alexa device, can now be used in the Amazon shopping app. For example, controlling the lights, adding products to the shopping cart, asking to play music and so on. An Alexa button will be integrated into the navigation bar of Amazon shopping app.

However, the ‘Alexa’ voice command can only be detected when the shopping app is opened and not like ‘Ok Google' or ‘Hey Siri’ hot words, which can be accessed from anywhere in the smartphone.
