Apple iPhone 7 Plus spotted for pre-orders at $1,600

Apple will be announcing the iPhone flagship for 2016 in less than a month.

Last month, Evan Blass, a well-known tipster on Twitter, revealed that the pre-orders for the Apple’s upcoming flagship, the iPhone 7, are expected to begin from September 9. Also based on launch of previous smartphones, Apple often starts their pre-orders 2-3 days after unveiling their latest product. However, according to a listing spotted on eBay the iPhone 7 is now available for pre-orders at a cost of $1,600 (approximately Rs 1 lakh).

As compared to the iPhone 6S Plus, even the ‘Pro’ variant, that features 128GB RAM costs about $1,000 (approximately Rs 63,000), while the price showcased on eBay for iPhone 7 is 60 per cent higher compare to the iPhone 6S Plus variant.

Chances are that the smartphone will be priced around USD 1,000, but the seller on eBay is asking an extra $600 as service charge. Probably, the seller is catering to those consumers who may not belong to a region where iPhone would be rolled out immediately, saving people from all the trouble of buying the smartphone after the launch.

The iPhone has a record where Apple fans pile up days before the launch and wait in a long queue to get their hands on the iPhone as soon as the stores open. This causes an immense rush at the various stores, even causing unwanted stampedes. Apple fans from all over the world travel to the US a few days in advance, just to get their hands on the first released models. To help save them the efforts, sellers on eBay are taking the chance of listing a pre-ordering the iPhone so that potential users would opt for them, helping them make some immense profits.

Lastly, the image of the iPhone 7 shown on the website is not original, but the pre-order seems to be possibly ‘genuine’.

Those who are unaware, leaks suggests that the new iPhone will have a similar design as the previous variant, apart from the antenna lines which are moved from the back to the top and bottom sides of the device. Also the device will no longer house the 3.5-mm audio jack.

The audio jack will be replaced by a speaker grill and the only connecting port will be the Lightning. The new phone will also have a larger rear camera placed at the top left of the phone, as well as dual cameras on the Plus variant.
