The iPhones launching in 2019 will feature triple camera setups, but one key hardware feature the new Apple flagships will miss out on are the 3D ToF or Time of Flight sensors that some android phones are already featuring. The sensor is used on many devices to measure distance accurately.
We may see the sensor added to the back of the iPhones, which will enhance the AR functionality on the devices.
The sensors will also add secondary enhancements like a better effect on depth photographs. This will also go hand in hand with the ARKit 3 update to ARKit 2, which will feature on the iOS 13 update.
The sensor will be able to measure distances of upto 4.5 meters, which is more than what current android phones featuring the sensor can offer. The ToF sensor will also work better and more accurately compared to the current 3D TrueDepth sensor on iPhones....
