New LeEco smartphone variant with 6GB RAM spotted on GFXBench
Mumbai: Chinese OEM LeEco (Formerly known as LETV) are supposedly working on a new smartphone that will feature 6GB RAM, according to benchmarking site GFXBench.
A couple of years ago, a smartphone featuring 6GB RAM was hard to believe, but now there are two handsets—Vivo Xplay 5 Elite and Vernee Apollo—available in China. The new variant spotted on the benchmarking site will be the third device by a Chinese OEM to sport 6GB RAM.
The company will be releasing what seems to be another flagship device, dubbed LeEco Le X820. While there is no confirmation on the official name, reports suggested that it might be named Le Max 2, Le Max Pro, or just Le 2.
According to the specifications revealed on the benchmarking site, the new device will feature a 5.5-inch capacitive QHD display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels.
Under the hood, the handset is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm 2.1GHz Snapdragon 820 processor along with Adreno 530 GPU, and a mammoth 6GB RAM capacity. While there are negatives to having such a high-capacity RAM such as excessive heating, the handset is speculated to be faster than the current ones.
With an internal storage capacity of 64GB, the handset offers decent space but there has been no confirmation of microSD card slot.
In terms of camera, the smatphone will feature a powerful 21MP rear primary camera setup with autofocus, LED flash, and 4K video recording capabilities. The secondary 8MP front-camera also sounds good.
According to the benchmark, the handset will also equip Android Marshmallow 6.1 OS, straight out of the box. Surprisingly, there was no mention regarding a fingerprint scanner, which has become a mandatory feature in today’s devices.
There has been no word on the pricing and availability of the handset as of now but it should be released soon in China, as per reports.
