One more hint the Galaxy S11 series could sport an insane 108MP camera

Taking into account previous reports as well, there is heavy speculation, that the S11 and/or S11e will support a 108 MP sensor.

A report by XDA developers has revealed that Samsung’s new One UI 2.0 Beta camera app now has multiple new features that hint even towards what the growth trend of its incoming products would be.

An APK teardown discovered that the app has built support for 8K video recording as well as 20:9 aspect ratios. The former would mean that a phone with a 108 MP camera sensor could be in the works, since at least 33,177,600 pixels are required for 8K video. This brings the 108 MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensors to be a close match for a future Samsung phone, something we haven’t seen so far, as the last phone to have the sensor is a Xiaomi one.

Meanwhile for the 20:9 aspect ratio captures, it will support a smaller 4,032 x 1,800 pixels resolution.

Samsung’s currently working on the commitment to launch its Galaxy S11 and S11E smartphones, by February/March next year. Taking into account previous reports as well, there is heavy speculation, that the S11 and/or S11e will support a 108 MP sensor.

Other reports have also mentioned that this will be in a periscope design with upto 5x optical zoom. among other specifications as well. You can read about the body specifications here.

The report also revealed other features included Director’s View, Single Take Photo, Night Hyper lapse, and more in the new app.
