iPhone 7 survives more than 7 hours underwater
Apple proudly introduced its latest Flagships — iPhone 7 and 7 Plus — with a slew of new features including water resistance. The company faced a lot of criticism as it did not include water damages under warranty.
Despite the criticism, for the first time iPhones came with IP67 certification and the folks at iFixit decided to put the new devices to test and check whether Apple’s ‘30 minute underwater resistance’ claims are true.
They threw the iPhone 7 in a fish tank and evaluated how long it services. The device not only crossed the half hour mark with ease but survived much longer than that.
The video was live streamed, which ended at approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes, but the iPhone was working flawlessly. At one point of time when the handset was low on charge, the phone was kept on charge underwater and it worked seamlessly.
So it is safe to say that despite the Apple’s warning to consumers regarding water-resistance, the phones are actually water resistant.
