AppleCare extended from 60 days to one year on iPhone purchase

Now iPhone insurance through Apple has the same purchase windows as the Apple TV and Macs

Apple has silently pushed an update to its AppleCare+ smartphone insurance program that extends the purchase window for iPhones from 60 days to one year. However, the update is not showing up on company’s official product page for AppleCare+, Apple news website MacRumours has confirmed it with a support rep.

But if a user go to the Apple’s eligibility tool and input the serial number from their device’s settings, they shall be able to see a new purchase option so long as you purchased the device within the last year.

Now iPhone insurance through Apple has the same purchase windows as the Apple TV and Macs, but the iPad and Apple Watch are still limited to 60 days after purchase.

Take note that AppleCare+ cannot be purchased after the device has been damaged, Apple requires a physical inspection to buy the service in-store and a remote diagnostic test if you do so online.
