Moto E4/E4 Plus: Back to basics

Two new Moto devices, with stock Android and long-lasting battery is in the offing.

Ultra-fast fingerprint sensors with a unibody design frame made from aviation-grade aluminum, with cameras in the front, back and sides! This is a (slightly exaggerated) version of how smart phone companies brand their products these days. It doesn't stop there. The 'enhancements' spill over to the software, with add-on layers to Android. Features like auto-bundling of apps into a category folder, multiple swipe features and much more, leading to heavy use of memory space and compute power. ...You wish that someone releases a product that sticks to the basics — Android in its original form. A fairly rugged frame and decent battery life. Motorola seems to have heard you.

The recently launched Moto E4 and E4 Plus come with features that make sense to the power user (literally). The E4 Plus is a 5.5 inches device with a 5000mAh battery that promises 48 hours of usage on a single charge. The device also comes with a 10W charger that lets you charge the phone in minutes. Pre-loaded with stock Android 7, the device offers Moto Display, Motorola's feature that helps you save power by checking out notifications without unlocking your phone. The E4 Plus comes in a 3GB + 32GB configuration with 13MP + 5MP cameras.

The Moto E4, on the other hand comes in a 2GB + 16GB configuration with a 5W charger, and a 2800mAh battery. With 8MP + 5MP camera configuration, the E4 is a 5-inch all-metal device. Both the devices are currently available at Rs 9,999 and Rs 8,999 respectively.
