iPhone 7 Plus tear down reveals 2,900mAh battery, 3GB RAM

iFixit's teardown of the iPhone 7 Plus showed that the RAM has been upgraded to 3GB and the battery is 2,900mAh.

A teardown of the iPhone 7 Plus has showed that the smartphone comes along with a bigger battery as compared to the iPhone 6s Plus, and 3GB RAM.

iFixit’s teardown of the iPhone 7 Plus showed that the RAM has been upgraded to 3GB and the battery is 2,900mAh, which is a five per cent increase over the iphone 6s Plus’s 2,750mAh battery; however, it is smaller than the one on the 6 Plus — 2,915mAh.

Though the battery update seems miniscule, Apple claims battery life will be up to one hour longer than the 6s Plus, which equals 21 hours of 3G talk time, approximately 15 hours of Wi‑Fi internet use, or up to 16 days on standby. However, the iPhone 6s Plus offer a 3G talk time of 24 hours.

The teardown also showed that the iPhone 7 Plus uses a 3GB RAM for faster performance and efficiency. Apple said that the new A10 Fusion SoC will offer massive improvements in performance and also help in saving good amounts of power.

The new device is also waterproof and has been glued liberally from all sides to make the device sturdier against dust and water. Both the devices will release in India on October 7.

The company’s India website said the iPhone 7 32 GB will retail at Rs 60,000 and the iPhone 7 Plus 32GB is priced at Rs 72,000.
