Brand new iPhone 3GS for Rs 2,700 up for sale in Korea

A Korean telecom operator is selling unsold units of 2009's iPhone 3GS, albeit with changed batteries.

In what comes as an eventful moment for a nostalgic Apple fan or collector, South Korean telecom operator SKTelink will sell several units of the Apple iPhone 3GS in their market for a mere 44,000 won. The operator discovered a warehouse full of Apple’s 2009 flagship smartphone and decided to sell it instead of sending them to the scrap yard. An ETNews report claims that the units are haven’t been unboxed yet and therefore need attention on the status of one of the phone’s most critical parts — the battery. This is why SK Telink will open all the units and test them to ensure that they sell only those units that are still in working condition.

The iPhone 3GS was one of the fastest smartphones back in 2009 and debuted as the successor to the iPhone 3G. The 3GS ran on an unspecified chipset that had a 600MHz Cortex-A8 processor. At launch, it ran on iOS 3 and received updates up to iOS 6.1.6. One could buy the iPhone 3GS in 8/16/32GB storage variants. It had a tiny 3.5-inch display and had a 3.2MP rear camera.
