Motorola’s new Razr 2019, a nod to the classic retro Moto Razr V3 coupled with modern technology and specs, took the tech world by storm on its launch yesterday. If you too are marvelled by the incredible design of the new phone, made over a decade after the original Razr in 2004, check out the making of the Moto Razr 2019 right from its inception to the final product in these small behind-the-scene videos.
It took the Motorola team four years to finally produce the new Moto Razr, said Glenn Schultz, Innovation and Product Development VP at Motorola. This included inputs of different perspectives from parent company Lenovo on the design of both the new folding screen and the hinge of the phone.
The Research and Development team at Motorola had to go through 26 prototype designs before they settled on the final clamshell design that the world loves right now. Emphasis on key elements like the aesthetic appeal and the durability of the phone were also maintained during the designing of the smartphone, which comes with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass and brushed stainless steel.
Motorola also created special machines to test the opening and closing of the new foldable screen multiple times to ensure a smooth and consistent experience, before sending out review units.
While we do not know when the phone will be making an Indian release, here are more videos of the Motorola Moto Razr to feast your eyes on till then:
