The company has also launched a SOS-Be Safe' emergency response app, that will send a distress message to the emergency number list.

Videocon has announced that it will be adding the panic button across its smartphone portfolio, starting with its Cube 3 smartphone. The company has also launched a ‘SOS-Be Safe’ emergency response app, that will send a distress message to the numbers added to the emergency list.

The app offers three features including ‘Walk with Me’ that lets users send an emergency alert to their close ones. The ‘Reach on Time’ feature lets user set location such as home or office and their usual travel time.

The ‘Alarm’ feature allows users to enable or disable the power button to send the distress message to emergency contacts. The SOS-Be Safe app also helps users find the nearest police station and hospitals.

Talking of the Cube 3, the smartphone comes with a 5-inch display with 2.5D curved glass. It boasts a plastic body with cube design at the rear panel. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card.

It is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash, while an 8MP front facing camera also on-board. Videocon Cube 3 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is juiced by a 3,000mAh battery and 20 per cent fast charging.
