Android 8.0 to roll out on Pixel and Nexus on August 21

Android 8.0 is slated to bring a lot of user interfaces and under-the-hood enhancements.

Google has released the fourth and last scheduled DP (Development Preview) milestone of its upcoming Android 8.0 mobile operating system, we’re waiting for the final version to roll out to supported Google Pixel and Nexus devices.

Google has already stated that it is planning to launch Android 8.0, which could be dubbed “Oreo,” in Q3 2017 to AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and ecosystem, making its way immediately to users of Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL devices first.

However it looks like the release date of the Android 8.0 is not far away, as well as some well-connected Android reporters, including VentureBeat’s Evan Blass, have reported on Twitter that Google could start rolling out the major Android update to supported devices starting August 21, 2017.

Android 8.0 is slated to bring a lot of user interfaces and under-the-hood enhancements, as well as many new features like the ability to update Android devices even if there is no space available in the device.

Android 8.0 will bring also bring support for Bluetooth 5.0 technologies, which is currently rumoured to hit HTC’s U11 smartphones.

Furthermore, the Android 8.0 will be supported on all devices which received the Development Preview (DP) milestones, including Google Pixel and Pixel XL, Google Pixel C, as well as the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones and Nexus Player. The rest of the Android smartphone OEMs will probably follow the trend, later this year.
