Samsung's flagship launch in India coincides with the global unveiling of Xiaomi's flagship Mi 6.

After the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ last month in New York, Samsung India has finally revealed the launch date of its much-awaited flagship smartphone. In an official tweet this morning, Samsung will be “unboxing” its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus on the 19th of April, 2017.

A 12MP f1.7 dual pixel camera does the rear camera’s duty while an 8MP f1.7 auto-focus camera is there to work as the front camera. The standard S8 has a 5.8-inch 1440p sAMOLED “Infinity Display” while the S8+ has to do with a 6.2-inch 1440p version of the same. There’s Bixby on board along with the Google Assistant to assist you in your daily life.

According to their official website, Samsung has also released the list of the accessories that will be available for sale with the S8 and the S8+. Consumers will be able to choose from a range of attractive protective cases and covers, wireless charger, battery pack and a physical keyboard cover. It isn’t clear if Samsung will bundle some of these with the phone during the launch.

On the same day in China, Xiaomi will globally unveil their latest flagship – the Mi 6. As per rumours and leaks, the Mi 6 is shaping up to be a worthy rival. It remains to be seen that which one catches attention (and buying preference) of the people.
