Future Samsung devices may come with the latest Exynos 9 chipset

The Exynos chipset is developed by Samsung and is used in many of the smartphones till date.

Reports regarding Samsung’s plans to completely re-design its Galaxy S series have been around for quite some time. Apart from the looks, the company seems to be putting in an equal amount of effort into overhauling the smartphone’s processor.

Now, according to a new report, Samsung plans on installing its latest Exynos chipset that will include the so-called Shannon 359 modem into its upcoming devices.

The same report suggested that the Shannon 359 modem will support just about all the network basebands in the market including FDD-LTE, TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, CDMA2000, CDMA, and GSM.

However, the Shannon 359 is not expected to be launched until Q3 2017. And since the company will be unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S8 earlier next year, it seems unlikely that this smartphone will benefit from this.
