LYF F1 review: Built-in with a dual' video player
Reliance has launched 4G VoLTE phones at various price points from Rs 4,000 to Rs 20,000 (there are rumours that 2017 will see a Rs 1,000 phone). The Lyf F1 is among the better featured, a 5.5-inch dual SIM device working with Android 6.0 with 3GB RAM.
The cameras are 8MP front and 16MP rear. The rear camera stabilises the image for video mode and works even in low light. Since it is pre installed with MyJio software, you can quickly access features like Rich Communication Service which enhances SMS and voice calls by adding location, images and files. The built in video player lets you view two videos at the same time, though I wonder who would want to do that! Good value at Rs 13,399.
In recent weeks, other 4G VoLTE phones have been launched that can exploit the Jio SIM: Micromax has launched a Vdeo range of phones bundled with a Reliance SIM and preloaded with Google Duo video caller. The phones are priced Rs 4,440 (4-inch) and Rs 4,990 (4.5-inch). Panasonic has launched the Eluga Prim, a 5 inch phone with finger print scanner at Rs 10,290.
