iPhone SE 2 could feature a 'notched-display', hints leaked screen protector

The rumoured iPhone SE 2 could be the second iPhone to ditch the TouchID and the ugly bezels for a cleaner look.

WWDC 2018 is on the horizon and rumours about several new goodies from Apple’s bag are doing rounds of the Internet. While we are expecting a bunch of expensive new iPads and the next iteration of iOS, one of the most anticipated ones is the iPhone SE 2. The successor to the first generation 4-inch iPhone is expected to break cover at the event. Initially, it was assumed that Apple could go the iPad 2018-way by simply stuffing in newer hardware in the old chassis, until rumours of an iPhone X-like design was let out. Now, there’s more news on that front.

Cult of Mac has come upon a screen protector meant to be applied on the upcoming iPhone SE 2. The protector, which is made Olixar, suggests that the iPhone SE 2 could sport an all-screen display like the iPhone X. Also, like the iPhone X, it will sport the highly-debated notch, as is suggested by the cutout on the top of the glass. Olixar says that they have started making the screen protectors based on information from their partners in China. And, they are pretty sure that the iPhone SE 2 would indeed look like a shrunken iPhone X from the front.

Not only a screen protector, but Olixar has also started manufacturing cases for the device. And in those renders, it’s suggested that the iPhone SE 2 could sport a glass rear panel, like the present day iPhone 8 and iPhone X. There’s a single rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. The sides have been shown to feature sharp edges like the present day iPhone SE.

While these renders certainly raise the excitement for the iPhone SE 2, bear in mind that the iPhone SE 2 could be a budget iPhone model, like its predecessor. Therefore, most of these rumoured features could end up going in the trash. If you are willing to invest in the next affordable iPhone, we suggest you wait until 4th of June.
