Samsung to start testing Galaxy X prototype with dual screen

The next big thing to come out of Samsung's store will be the foldable smartphones, known under the name of Galaxy X.

Samsung recently launched its much anticipated smartphone, the Galaxy S8 at an event in New York. But the next big thing to come out of the company’s store will be the foldable smartphones, known under the name of Galaxy X.

The device has been doing rounds in the rumour mill for quite some time now and the latest online reports suggest that the testing phase will soon start. The company will start testing a dual-screen device prototype soon. The Galaxy X smartphone can be folded to 180 degrees and will reportedly feature a pair of organic light-emitting diode display panels, connected in the centre with a hinge.

The reports suggest that Samsung has already ordered for components to produce a number of 2000-3000 units of the smartphone in the first half of 2017. The company also intends to produce a limited batch of Galaxy X phones in the second half as well. Reports also indicate that the Galaxy X smartphones will not be commercialized in 2019.

It’s worth noting that this report should be taken with a pinch of salt, since there has been much speculation as to when the foldable smartphone will hit the shelves, but the company is yet to make an official announcement.
