The Galaxy Note 7 comes with an improved design, iris scanner and enhancements for the S Pen.

Samsung has finally launched its Galaxy Note 7 phablet for the Indian segment at a price of Rs 59,990. Unlike company’s previous launches the consumers didn’t witness two variants this time around. The new Galaxy Note 7 compliments the Galaxy S7, and S7 edge, by ditching the Note 6 naming and is also similar to the S7 series in terms of specifications and design.

This is the first waterproof Galaxy Note and also an industry first to feature a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. This also marks the first Galaxy Note to house a Type-C charging port, a feature missing from the flagship Galaxy S series.

The Galaxy Note 7 includes the integration of an iris sensor for improved security. As for the specifications, the Galaxy Note 7 flaunts a 5.7-inch QHD bezel less display and has a Exynos 8 SoC at its heart, backed by 4GB of RAM. The phablet runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has 64GB of internal storage capacity, which is expandable using a microSD card.

The device is also IP68 certified making it dust and water resistant. In the imaging department, the phablet will sport a 12-megapixel snapper on the rear panel, with dual-pixel technology, PDAF and LED flash. As for selfie fans, the Galaxy Note7 will have a 5MP shooter. There is 3500mAh battery on the phablet with support for super fast charging.

Samsung has also announced the Gear VR headset, priced at Rs. 7,290. The company also launched its Gear IconX earbuds, along with the Gear Fit 2 smartband that will be available at Rs. 13,490 and Rs. 13,990 respectively.
