Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge starts getting Android 8.0 Oreo update in India

Samsung starts rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update, Samsung Experience 9.0 in India.

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for its 2016 flagship handsets, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in India. This update is available for S7 and S7 Edge owners in the UAE as well.

As per a report, the Android 8.0 Oreo update brings Samsung Experience 9.0, Dual Messenger, a high contrast keyboard, and overall UI improvements which now allow the S7 and S7 Edge’s interface to look more like the Galaxy S8 or S9.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge receive firmware versions G930FXXU2EREM and G935FXXU2EREM respectively and will set one back by around 1.4GB of storage.

If one does not see the update, they can head over to Settings to manually get it. If you do not see the update, bear in mind that it is still rolling out and you should get it in the near future.

When Samsung launched the Galaxy S7, it was priced in India at Rs 48,900 and the Galaxy S7 Edge came with a price tag of Rs 56,900. If you are interested in this two-year-old flagship, you can head over to Flipkart and purchase the S7 for Rs 29,990 and the S7 Edge for Rs 35,900.
