Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 could launch within Jan, under Rs 13,000

Redmi Note 5 has been spotted in a listing at the FCC

Specification and pricing details of the upcoming Xiaomi Note 5 have surfaced online after they were spotted at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US.

In the listing appeared on the FCC, Xiaomi could announce the Note 5 before the end of January. The smartphone is said to retail a price tag of $191 (approximately under Rs 13,000) in India.

The Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.5-inch full HD with 1920x1080 pixel of resolution, and will be protected by Gorilla Glass 4. It will be powered by Qualcomm 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 652 SoC and MediaTek’s HelioX25 64-bit deca-core SoC, according to Leaker.com.

Redmi Note 5 could sport up to 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal memory option, which can further be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. It is also expected to sport a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

Redmi Note 5 is said to be backed by a 4,000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. It will feature fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone, just below the rear camera.

Redmi Note 5 is expected to run on MIUI 9 OS and Android 7.1 Nougat, and to be available in three colour variants, including Black, Silver and Gold.

Although various reports suggest that Xiaomi will announce the Redmi Note 5 within this month, it is still unclear when exactly it will be available in the Indian market.
