There is a vast market for basic feature phones in India and we rarely report upon. Here, value for money is the key and looks are secondary. Now an Indian brand -- Jivi Mobiles -- says: You can have your cake and eat it too. The value need not rule out an elegant design.
The Jivi Banana 6, as its name suggests, looks just like fruit when the slider is extended to expose the keypad, especially if you have chosen the yellow colour option. The dual SIM phone with a microSD slot, offers a 2.4-inch display, a flash camera, a torch, a music/video player, an audio jack with Bluetooth and internet connectivity. The battery is 1000 mAh, enough considering there are no power-hungry utilities. At Rs 1,399, the Banana 6 is good value, especially when bundled with a subscription from Vodafone.
