Galaxy Note 8 breaks Samsung's pre-order records
Galaxy Note 8 has broken all previous presales records that Samsung ever achieved in all these years during the same time period, the S.Korean tech giant confirmed in an announcement.
The company noted that more customers in the US have pre-ordered the Note 8 than any other Note series handset sold in the previous years. The pre-orders for the model reached nearly 400,000 units in Samsung’s home market on the first day, reported news agency Yonhap.
“We’re thrilled to see the strong consumer response to the next level Note. Today’s consumers want to do bigger things in work and life, and Note helps make that possible. We built the Galaxy Note8 for people who desire a device that lets them be productive and allows for self-expression,” said Tim Baxter, president and chief executive officer, Samsung Electronics North America in a statement.
Galaxy Note 8 was launched on August 23 and went live a day later.
Samsung records show that the Note 8 presale figure has outpaced the ill-fated Note 7, which managed to draw in 380,00 pre-orders over a 13-day pre-order period.
The official release of Galaxy Note 8 is slated for Sept 21, although those who pre-order the device will get it starting Sept. 15, reported Yonhap.
The price for the 64GB Note 8 variant stands at $964 in the US, while the 256GB Note 8 goes up to $1,107 in the country.
The India launch for the handset is scheduled for September 12, next week.
