Nokia smartphones to come with Siri rival'
Nokia is planning to equip its next-generation smartphones with an artificial intelligence voice assistant.
Nokia which recently unveiled its Android-powered Nokia 6 smartphone in partnership with HMD Global, has filed for a trademark in the EU regarding its own Siri-like digital assistant named Viki.
In the filed application on EU trademark, Nokia describes Viki as a “software for the creation and monitoring of mobile and web digital assistants working with knowledge and combining all data sources into a single chat and voice based interface”, reported a dutch website GSNNinfo.ni.
Meanwhile, Samsung has acquired Viv Labs, and is in plans to integrate their AI platform, called Viv, into the Galaxy smartphones. Samsung confirmed to launch voice assistant service for its upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone.
At present, Apple and Microsoft devices feature digital voice assistants, namely Siri and Cortana respectively.
