Samsung conducted official recall of its Note 7 devices after reported battery explosions earlier this month. Just when we thought things were getting back to being normal with the company, cases of these replaced devices catching fire started surfacing online.
The latest news comes from Minnesota wherein a 13-year old Abby Zuis said she felt a ‘weird, burning sensation’ while holding her Note 7. According to reports from KSTP, the device had burn marks quite similar to what was seen on the devices that caught fire before.
Both Samsung as well as the US Consumer Product Safety Commission is investigating the incident.
‘We want to reassure our customers that we take every report seriously and we are engaged with the Zuis family to ensure we are doing everything we can for them and their daughter,’ said a Samsung spokesperson in a statement to The Verge. ‘Customer safety remains our highest priority as we are investigating the matter.’
