No more flat screen Galaxy S series in the future?

Samsung may ditch the flat screen variant for its Galaxy S8, slated to launch in February next year.

Samsung has been in the news for the past few days, after it decided to conduct a global recall of it’s recently launched Galaxy Note 7. Many users reported that their Note 7 smartphones exploded while charging, but it seems that the company will be making up for its losses with its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8.

According to a new report from Korean herald, Samsung will be ditching the flat screen variant for its Galaxy S8, slated to launch in February next year. The report indicates that the company will be launching the device only with dual-edge screens.

The dual-edge display made its debut with Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge which was launched back in 2015. The dual-edge also featured on the Galaxy S7 Edge and received an overwhelming response from the consumers.

This doesn’t comes as a guarantee that the company will ditch the flat screen model of the phone, but it’s evident that the company can launch the next flagship with only one variant, as they did with the Galaxy Note 7.

If market response is positive, perhaps Samsung might go down with the curved screen design for Galaxy S8 next year, but this is just pure speculation at this moment.
