Video: Samsung phone burst into flames, company blames third party battery
You might be wrong if you thought Samsung’s trouble with faulty batteries is history. Earlier this week, a video surfaced shows a Samsung blowing into flames in a man’s shirt pocket.
But hold on, according to a new report the model in question here had a third-party battery. Samsung told CNN “We sincerely wish for our customer’s swift recovery, and strongly recommend all our consumers to use Samsung’s genuine or approved batteries that have been specifically designed for use in Samsung products.”
The video surfaced on October 3 shows a man suffering from severe burns as the phone explodes in his face. This is not the first time Samsung phone has witnessed any such incident, the company had to recall over 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 smartphones worldwide after several reports of the phone exploding came into light.
