Xiaomi is expected to unveil its flagship Mi 6 smartphone soon, while the Mi Mix and Mi Max are the only devices that are yet to receive a successor this year. The Mi Max 2 is codenamed Xiaomi Oxygen and will sport a massive 6.4-inch Full HD display, powered with Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB RAM along with Adreno 506 GPU. It will come equipped with a 12MP rear camera, while there is a 5MP front facing camera. The camera will be capable of taking 4K videos.

The phablet will draw power from a huge 5000mAh battery and will have support for fast charging. The handset will also have NFC support for cashless payments. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected to arrive in the market in May. The device will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI on top.

The higher-end variant of Mi Max 2 will sport more RAM capacity and a better camera module. Last year’s higher-end Mi Max model had a smaller battery of 4,850 mAh, while the rear camera featured a 16MP sensor with PDAF.
