Huawei thinks 6GB RAM is not necessary for its smartphones
Smartphone manufacturer Huawei recently made the headlines for introducing two new smartphones, P10 and P10 Plus. The company took the wraps off these devices at the MWC event that took place in Barcelona last week. These devices come packed with 4GB RAM. However, there is a high-end variant which sports 6GB RAM as well. However, it now appears like Huawei won’t be integrating the latter in its future devices.
Huawei’s P-series Chief Executive Lao Shi in a Weibo post suggested that the company’s smartphones function just fine with 4G of RAM. He further added that the devices’ 4GB RAM/128GB internal storage is better than the 6GB/64GB storage. He also emphasised upon the fact that a large RAM storage automatically becomes more costly.
He feels that the 6GB RAM is included in smartphones only for psychological satisfaction and that even though company’s numerous handsets including P10, 9 Pro, Honor 8 Pro and Mate 9 Porche comes with 6GB of RAM, we can safely assume that we might not see the same in Huawei’s future devices.
