Digital camera inventor Kodak is planning to unveil its upcoming smartphone soon, according to a leaked online teaser. On October 6, the company accidentally released a teaser pegging launch of a new smartphone scheduled for unveiling on October 20, 2016. However, the teaser has now been pulled down from the company’s Twitter handle.
However, the same teaser can still be seen on Kodak’s official website.
The teaser shows a power button with Kodak’s symbol stamped on it, and October 20, 2016 as the date when Kodak will unveil the phone.
This will not be Kodak’s first attempt to step into the smartphone industry. In 2015, Kodak launched IM5 smartphone; however the device never gained popularity. IM5 features a 5-inch 720p display, powered by a MediaTek MT6592 chipset clocked at 1.7GHz octa-core processor, coupled with 1GB RAM, 8GB of expandable internal storage, 13MP camera and 2100mAh of battery.
