Excited about the next-gen iPhone? The world may not be

The next-gen iPhone will only find favour with 16 percent existing iPhone users.

The world of technology is rubbing its hand in anticipation for having a proper look at the next generation iPhone early next week, which could either be called the iPhone 8 or iPhone X. Various leaks have shown a smartphone with extremely-thin bezels and some revolutionary smartphone technology. However, maybe all of these features are not enough to get the existing iPhone users excited.

That’s what Piper Jaffray’s survey has indicated in the US according to a CNBC report. The survey has shown that only 16 percent of the iPhone users are legitimately interested in the next generation iPhone, out of which only 24 percent are ready to shell out their money for whatever iPhone Apple releases on September 12.

However, surveys often cannot dictate the exact demand of the product unless the actual unveiling happens. Once the iPhone 8 or iPhone X is out in the market, the Cupertino giant’s sales charts could show a better result than last year’s iPhone 7. The iPhone 8 is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display in a 5-inch form factor due to extremely thin bezels. It may also debut a revolutionary facial recognition system that may eliminate the need for the TouchID on the iPhone.
