Huawei launches flagship smartphone P9 and P9 Plus with dual camera

The only difference between the two smartphones is their display size and battery.

Mumbai: At a recent event in London, Huawei launched its flagships of the year, the P9 and P9 Plus smartphones.

The Huawei P9 is essentially the smaller version of the P9 Plus, with most features being identical. Both the smartphones are powered by HiSilicon Kirin 955 with a 1.8GHz quad-core Cortex A53 and 2.5GHz quad-core Cortex A72 chipset, along with 3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. Huawei will also launch the 128GB version of the two smartphone in Asia soon, which will sport a RAM of 4GB.

Both Huawei P9 and P9 Plus feature a dual 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front facing camera. The two run on Android 6.0v Marshmallow operating system, with EmotionUI 4.1. On the connectivity front, both the smartphones 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth v4.2, USB-C, GPS/GNSS, along with NFC and 4G option.

The only difference between the two smartphones is their display size and battery. The Huawei P9 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, whereas the Huawei P9 Plus sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with the same resolution as the former’s. The P9 is fuelled with a 3,000mAh battery, and a 3,400mAH battery powered the P9 Plus.
