HP launches 'Made for India' tablets starting at Rs 19,374

The standard HP Pro 8 model features an 8-inch HD IPS Display.

American PC giant HP has launched its ‘Made for India’ Pro 8 tablet series to monitor subsidy distribution through Aadhaar authentication and deliver direct benefit transfer of government schemes, starting at a price rate of Rs 19,374.

“The Government of India is undertaking a massive digital push towards India’s transformation. As a long standing partner in India’s digital journey, we take this opportunity to provide solutions that can solve real life problems for citizens of India. With these Made for India devices, our aim is to offer efficient end-point solutions to enable various flagship schemes for direct benefit transfer, financial inclusion, and healthcare,” said Sumeer Chandra, Managing Director, HP India told ET.

The standard HP Pro 8 model features an 8-inch HD HD (1280x800 pixels) IPS display, powered by 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT8735 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, which comes with expandable support of up to 64GB via a microSD card. The table comes packed with a 6000mAh battery, which has been claimed to last up to 15 hours. The tablet supports Micro-SIM slot and also includes the 3.5mmheadphone jack.
