Samsung gives out 12,500 Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Editions for free

Samsung has also given away a wireless IconX earbuds to each Olympian

Korean giant, Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic games limited edition, and the phone is already up for sales. As the official sponsor of the Rio Olympics, the company has decided to give away 12,500 Galaxy S7 edge smartphones to the competing athletes.

Athletes from different have received the smartphone, including the team of divers from Great Britain, the Brazilian polo team and a US Olympic gold medalist.

The Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Limited Edition features a black metal frame and the Olympic Games logo engraved on the rear panel. It comes pre-loaded with customized Olympic Games wallpaper and themes.

Apart from 12,500 Galaxy S7 Edge phones, Samsung has also given away a wireless IconX earbuds to each Olympian. The headphones come with a heart-rate monitoring system, a music player, and support for Samsung's S Health app.

To recall, the Galaxy S7 Edge comes with Snapdragon 820 / Exynos 8890 CPUs with 4GB RAM. It sports a 5.5 inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It packs a 12MP rear camera with a 144-micron pixel sensor and f/1.7 aperture, while a 5MP unit is placed on the front for taking selfies. It boasts a USB Type-C port and is juiced by a 3,600mAh battery.
