At Lenovo’s keynote event, the main topic of discussion was the Lenovo Z5. This is rightfully so as prior to its unveiling there had been numerous leaks regarding its design. The latest Lenovo flagship was expected to come without a notch up top and an overall bezel-less display. Sadly, this did not happen and Lenovo announced the handset with not only a notch but a chin as well.
Moving away from the flagship device, Lenovo also announced two more handsets, the K5 Note, a refreshed version of its 2016 handset and a budget A5 smartphone.
The K5 Note comes with a much modern design in comparison to the 2016 version and along with hardware to boot. The Lenovo K5 Note has a 6-inch IPS display with a screen ratio of 18:9. The resolution found here is 720 x 1440 pixels. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset and it is equipped with a 3GB or 4GB of RAM that is paired with 32 or 64GB of onboard storage. For additional storage, a 256GB MicroSD card can be added.
The cameras here are a 16MP camera with AI capabilities and f/2.0 aperture along with a 2MP shooter with a f/2.4 aperture for depth recognition. The front-facing camera is rated at 8MP unit with f/2.0 aperture. The Lenovo K5 note is fuelled by 3,760mAh battery. The handset is adorned with a Lenovo ZUI 4.0 overlay on top of the Android 8.1 Oreo OS.
The A5 budget smartphone comes equipped with a MediaTek MT6739 system-on-chip that is paired with 3GB of RAM. There are two storage options, 16GB and 32GB. Additionally one can expand upon it by using a microSD card up to 256GB. The A5 comes with a 5.45-inch screen with a resolution of 740 x 1440 pixels. The OS used here is ZUI 3.9 on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The rear camera is rated at 13MP with a f/2.2 aperture while the front-facing camera is an 8MP snapper with an aperture value of f/2.2. The battery bundled in the Lenovo A5 is a 4,000mAh battery.
The price of the K5 Note is CNY 799 that would be approximately Rs 8,375 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB version. The higher end model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage is priced at CNY 999 which would put it roughly at Rs 10,471. The Lenovo A5 is priced at CNY 599 making it about Rs 6,278.
