Huawei broke down the deal to make Pixel phones

The deal broke down when Google demanded not to carry manufacturer's logo on the new smartphones.

On October 4, Google unveiled two new smartphones under a new ‘Pixel’ brand, Pixel and Pixel XL.

Those who aren’t aware, the two smartphones are built by HTC. According to a report by Android Police, the smartphones were initially to be manufactured by Huawei. However, the deal broke down when Google demanded not to carry manufacturer’s logo on the new smartphones.

This year Google decided to drop the former ‘Nexus’ brand its smartphones use to carry. With launch of Pixel smartphones, Google is trying to portray its interest in hardware technology rather than just building software for devices.

The Pixel smartphones has been priced from $649 and will be available in India starting from October 13.
