OnePlus 5 to feature bigger battery than its predecessor

The Weibo postsays that the OnePlus 5 will boast a bigger battery than its predecessor and will charge 25 per cent faster than OnePlus 3T.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that company’s next flagship is in works. However, Lau didn’t confirm the name for its next smartphone. But many reports and leaks have claimed that the device will be named OnePlus 5. A new leak has surfaced on Weibo brings new set of information about the smartphone.

According to the Weibo post, the OnePlus 5 will boast a bigger battery than its predecessor OnePlus 3T and will charge 25 per cent faster than OnePlus 3T. The post also claims that the device will sport a fingerprint sensor housed on the front panel.

The upcoming flagship will also come with 6GB RAM like its predecessor and will have 64GB/128GB of internal storage. There is a possibility that the device may come in two variants, one with 6GB and another with 8GB RAM. The leak also suggests that the OnePlus 5 can hit the global market next month, which means that launch of the OnePlus 5 is nearing.

As for the specifications, the upcoming flagship will pack-in a 5.5-inch display and is also expected to come with Oxygen OS based on Android Nougat. It will be equipped with a 16MP rear as well as front shooter.

It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The device will go against the likes of recently launched Samsung Galaxy S8 and Xiaomi Mi 6.
