Google pulls down Taliban's app from Play Store
Mumbai: Google developer policy chalks down a set of rules for the apps put up on the Play Store. The platform forbids applications that encourage hate speech, violence or illegal activities.
Recently, Google spotted an app developed by Taliban on the Play Store, which was immediately pulled down when Google found that it violated its policies. The app was reportedly published on Google Play on April 1, 2016.
SITE, the organization that tracks the online activity of terrorist groups, had first reported about the existence of such an applications.
Last year, Google had implemented a review process for Android developers, which required apps to go through an approval process before they were put up on the Play Store. Earlier, apps were reviewed only when reported.
