Kodak Ektra smartphone to be available from Dec 9, prices start at Rs 36,000

Camera manufacturing company Kodak recently announced the launch of its brand new smartphone – the Ektra, taking the market by surprise. Now reports suggest that the smartphone is scheduled to go on sale in Germany from December 9 onward at a whooping price of €499 (approximately Rs 36,000). According to a report published by Android Authority, the smartphone will only be available for sale at major retailers across the country including Amazon, MediaMarkt, Saturn, Ringfot and Kodak’s own online store.

Moving on to the specifications, the device sports a 5-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution. It runs on 2.3GHz deca-core Helio X20 processor and offers 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD card.

On the camera front, which is its primary attraction, the smartphone boosts a 21MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and OIS (optical image stabilization). The main camera also features PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-focus), dual-tone, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording. The smartphone sports a 13MP front camera, too.

The Ektra is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging and is expected to arrive in UK markets by the start of 2017.
