After unveiling in China last month, Xioami has announced its plans to launch the Mi Mix 2 in India on October 10. The smartphone is a successor to last year’s Mi Mix — a smartphone that started the bezel-less display revolution amongst international manufacturers. No other information regarding the price in India has been mentioned yet.
The Mi Mix 2 continues the bezel-less tradition of the original Mi Mix, albeit in a smaller form factor. The smartphone sports a 5.99-inch 18:9 full HD LCD display in a compact body. The Mi Mix 2 is built on a Snapdragon 835 chipset accompanied by 6GB or 8GB RAM and 64GB, 128GB or 256GB storage. The smartphone has a full ceramic body. There’s a single lens 12MP camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture and 4-axis stabilisation.
We expect Xiaomi to launch the 64GB variant of the Mi Mix 2 with 6GB RAM in India. The company could price it in the Rs 30,000 to Rs 38,000 price range, making it compete directly with the OnePlus 5 and Honor 8 Pro. The Mi Mix 2 could pose a strong challenge to the premium smartphone category in India with its bezel-less display for a bargain price.
