Apple die-hards in India wait in long queues to get their iPhone X
Apple’s much anticipated smartphone, the iPhone X is finally up for sales after receiving an tremendous response during the pre-booking period. The authorised Apple resellers in India also witnessed long queues of Apple fanatics outside the stores who gathered to grab their iPhone Xs.
The Indian retail availability of the iPhone X began at 6pm, with an impressive number of buyers lining up outside the stores hours before, in order to get their hands on the ‘Super Flagship’ device.
Another reason for the fans to buy an iPhone X before anyone else is the availability concerns associated with the device. The iPhone X is already testing the patience of consumers and investors, as Apple did not make enough models to meet demand worldwide. This would leave many potential buyers — and certainly those haven’t pre-ordered one, disappointed.
As for the pricing, the iPhone X price starts at Rs 89,000 for the 64GB variant, while the 256GB variant will be selling for a whopping Rs 1,02,000. Apple-designed accessories including leather and silicone cases will be available starting at Rs 3,500 while a new iPhone X Leather Folio will be available for Rs 8,600. Lightning Docks in colour-matching metallic finishes will also be available for Rs 4,700.
To recall, the iPhone X comes with all-glass and stainless steel design with a 5.8-inch Super Retina display, A11 Bionic chip with neural engine for machine learning, augmented reality and 3D gaming experiences, wireless charging and Face ID, delivering an innovative and secure new way to unlock, authenticate and pay.
The TrueDepth camera that enables Face ID brings Portrait mode with Portrait Lighting to the front camera for selfies with a depth-of-field effect and enables Animoji, which captures and analyses over 50 different facial muscle movements. A redesigned rear camera with dual optical image stabilisation includes a new colour filter, deeper pixels, and an improved Apple-designed image signal processor and features Portrait mode with Portrait Lighting. The all-glass front and back on iPhone X feature the most durable glass ever in a smartphone in two finishes, silver and space grey.
