No more space? Google's new feature will tell you which app to uninstall

Running out of smartphone storage space is a common scene since a few years.

Running out of storage space on your smartphone is nothing new. Almost every one today must have been through this episode and have at least sat down once, trying to figure out what should be uninstalled to gain some more space.

On an average, every smartphone user has around 70 apps installed on his or her phone. This includes user apps as well as apps that are bundled along with the operating system. And there comes a time when the internal storage space on your Android smartphone becomes scarce. Most often, users know of this too late, especially when their WhatsApp starts alerting them that they cannot download a media file or their market app informs them that they cannot update apps anymore since the storage space has run out. This could be haunting you for a while now and it will still do so for a long time. However, Google is reportedly testing a feature that will help you ease this area.

Tech Crunch reports that Google has been testing a new feature and it will integrate it within Google Play itself. The feature will suggest which apps can be uninstalled to make room for your new download or update. The feature will not only look at the size of the app, but will also consider the amount of times the app is in use. If you are not using particular apps for a long time, these will be in the top list for uninstallation.

Presently, the new feature is not yet released to public, but is seen on a few select groups who are using the beta version. TC states that Google declined to comment on the subject.
