Nexus Play, Google Pixel C start receiving Android 7.1.2 Nougat

The new update brings new finger gesture support, security patch, bug fixes and more.

Google’s Android team conducted extensive beta testing for over a month and has finally rolled out its latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat to Google Pixel C, Nexus Play and other eligible devices.

According to Android Police, Android 7.1.2 appears to be rolling out now to Nexus Player and Pixel C. So far, these Google-affiliated gadgets are the only ones to receive the update.

The new update reportedly comes with several security patches, bug fixes and other value-added features. The new update also allows the devices to recognise fingerprint gesture. Moreover, the new update also gets a new launcher app that allows users to put up live wallpapers.

Apart from that, the new update also brings new battery usage alert option, which shows a list of apps that are using up much of phone’s battery.

There is a high possibility that this might be the last of the Nougat series update before the next Android O is launched this year.
