Samsung to launch DeX Pad' alongside Galaxy S9
Samsung unveiled the DeX last year alongside the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Although the smartphones overshadowed DeX, that doesn’t diminish the possibilities it presented.
Now the folks at Galaxy Club have spotted a new document requesting a trademark on the name ‘DeX Pad’ on the European Union Intellectual Property Office’s (EUIPO) on January 2, corroborating the previous leaks about the flat design of the device.
It is believed that Samsung has altered the aesthetics of the DeX docking station to provide users with the option to use their device’s edge-to-edge Infinity Display as a touchpad or virtual keypad when it’s lying flat, thus eliminating the need of a wired or wireless mouse or keyboard.
Earlier, known tipster Evan Blass said, the Galaxy S9 will boast near-identical design to the Galaxy S8, although it will have a bigger battery and relocated fingerprint sensor. It will also be powered by a more powerful processor and will have a better rear and front camera setups.
