Samsung may unveil the Galaxy S9 in January

The info is based on the rumour that the company will start shipping OLED panels for the upcoming devices in November.

Samsung unveiled its flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone in March, with global sales beginning a month later. According to a new report from The Bell, Samsung might change the launch cycle for its Galaxy S series next year.

The report suggests that the Galaxy S9 will be launched in the month of January and will likely hit the shelves sometime in February. The info is based on the rumour that the company will start shipping OLED panels for the upcoming devices in November, which is almost three months before the assembly of the devices is expected to begin.

For now this is just a speculation, as Samsung is yet to confirm the existence of the device. However, if the rumours turn out to be true, the Galaxy S9 might say the light of day earlier than ever.

A lot of smartphone giants are expected to unveil their flagship smartphones at MWC in Barcelona, which usually takes place in February or March. Launching the Galaxy S9 can also prove to be an advantage for the company to compete against the mighty iPhone that will be launched this month.
