Samsung launches Galaxy On6 with Infinity display

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset.

Samsung has launched its latest smartphone — Galaxy On6 under its Galaxy On series. The smartphone will be seen competing against the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and the top-end Realme 1 variant.

Similar to the Galaxy J-series and the Galaxy A-series, the Galaxy On6 also comes with an Infinity Display. The Galaxy On6 features a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with an 18:5:9 aspect ratio. The handset runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience UX on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset clocked at 1.6GHz, aided by 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 256GB. The device draws its power from a 3000mAh battery.

There is a 13MP rear camera sensor accompanied by an LED flash. It offers features such as Beauty Face, Best Photo, Animated GIF, Face Detection, Food, HDR, Panorama, and Sports. Upfront, there is an 8MP camera sensor aided by an LED flash. The front camera also enables the Face Unlock feature. Connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.2, 4G VoLTE, Wi-F, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device houses a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone comes with Chat Over Video feature that allows users to chat while watching a video with the help of a translucent chat screen. There is also a Samsung Pay Mini to enable easy payments via the device. The Samsung Galaxy On6 retails at a price of Rs 14,490 and will be exclusively available for purchase via Flipkart starting July 5.
