Samsung testing Galaxy Note 8 variant

There are reports that the company is testing a Galaxy Note 8 variant running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

South Korean technology giant Samsung is expected to unveil two new smartphones this month, the Galaxy S8 Active and the refurbished Galaxy Note 7R. There are also reports that the company is testing a Galaxy Note 8 variant running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

According to Galaxy Club the Galaxy Note 8 will have the same aspect ratio as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The smartphone will also reportedly feature the Infinity display, meaning the device will be sans the home button. The fingerprint sensor will most likely be integrated underneath the display.

Unfortunately the report doesn’t reveal any details about the innards of the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 and will run on the Exynos 8895 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. The Note 8 won’t be the first Samsung phone to have a dual camera setup, the company will unveil the C10 this summer, but an exact date is yet to be announced.

The Galaxy Note 8 is an important smartphone for Samsung, considering the predecessor Note 7 was discontinued causing massive financial loss to the company. The refurbished Galaxy Note 7R is expected to arrive in Korea this month, with a price tag of about $620.
