Apple ahead of Microsoft in global tablet sales: IDC

The California-based company is ahead of Microsoft, which sold only 1.6 million units of its Surface pro in the last quarter

New Delhi: Tech giant Apple sold two million units of its iPad Pro in the last quarter, according to IDC estimates.

The California-based company is ahead of Microsoft, which sold only 1.6 million units of its Surface pro in the last quarter, the Verge reported.

"One of the biggest reasons why detachables are growing so fast is because end users are seeing those devices as PC replacements. With these results, it's clear that price is not the most important feature considered when acquiring a detachable - performance is, " IDC research director for tablets, Jean Philippe Bouchard, said.

Apple designs, develops and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. Currently, the company is under pressure due to declining iPhone sales, but the company is also expected to counter that by introducing two new iPhone models this year.
